Welcome to my blog!

Every day is a new adventure, and though this blog won't capture it all at least you might get a glimpse of our crazy life...

Quotes

A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for

Babies are a link between angels and man.

Children are a handful sometimes, A heartfull all the time.

Loving a baby is a circular business, a kind of feedback loop. The more you give the more you get and the more you get the more you feel like giving.
Penelope Leach

While we try to teach our children all about life, Our children teach us what life is all about.
Angela Schwindt

Boy, n.: a noise with dirt on it.

Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.
John W. Whitehead

You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around - and why his parents will always wave back.

Hot sunny day!

We had a lot of fun today! Kinsley came over to play and Peyton was soo excited to have her here! She just turned 7 months old and she's getting around so good. She rolls everywhere and she's very good about sitting by herself. I think they look alike in the face in this picture. I think it's the nose...

It's cool to see them play together because I always think about how close I was to my cousins growing up and how I always wanted that for my kids.

She's such a cutie pie! Derek and I decided to take them all to the little water park by our house since it was very hot today. Audge and Sarah ended up coming too when they came to pick Kinsley up. They played with us there for a little bit.

The kids loved it! We made a little picnic and took it with us. Jax is getting to be quite the big eater! I swear this kid eats more than his sister. He's now wearing 18 month clothes and Peyton is still wearing 24 months. In a few more weeks they'll probably be wearing the same size with the way things are going. We love the days that daddy gets to be home with us and we always try to make them fun!

The truth about this picture is that I was telling Derek that I never take pictures with the kids and that I really wanted to get a good one, well as good as you can get wearing scrubby clothes and a hat. We were attempting to get them both to look at him and they wouldn't so Derek grabbed a bag of chips to get Jax's attention. When Derek didn't give him any he got upset. Yes, my son is a porker. Peyton, as always was ignoring his cries. This was actually the best picture out of three. Maybe we'll get a good one later!

Tahoe... again!

We just got back from our Tahoe mini vacation. This picture is definitely my favorite! It was exactly what we needed after being stuck at home all last week because of my strep throat, which by the way is all cleared up and I'm feeling fabulous...

My sisters and I took my kids and my niece and stayed in Janeane's in-laws condo for two nights. It has it's own private beach and the view was beautiful!

Peyton was soo excited to go to the beach! All she could talk about was the sand castle she was going to build...

She had a blast playing on the beach!

Her sand castle ended up looking like a volcano...

Our kids just keep getting bigger! It's soo much fun, I love it!

Peyton and I enjoying being able to put our toes in the sand...

We had soo much fun, but by the end of our trip I think everyone was ready to get back home. When we got home Derek was on the couch and Jax practically dove out of my arms to get to him. I could tell he missed him soo much. Peyton on the other hand was all about her toys and being home, but after about 45 minutes she ran over to Derek, gave him this huge smile and kissed him. It was pretty cute! I think that was her way of telling him she missed him too!

Strep throat...

I haven't blogged in a little while so I just wanted to fill you in on what's been going on here. To start off I just want to say that in the last week I've had 5 prescriptions. (3 different antibiotics and 2 pain killers) The pharmacist at the drive thru window of Walgreens knew me by name the last time I drove through. I am feeling so much better, but being sick as a mom is possibly one of the worst things that could happen. I'm so used to taking care of everyone else and for the first few days of being sick I was having a really difficult time. My body was definitely fighting something. Luckily Derek was home during a lot of it, but I still felt incredibly useless. My left tonsil was so swollen that I was having a really hard time swallowing and talking. One good thing about that was that I lost 5lbs because I wasn't eating, which was really good.. Strep throat is not fun! All I could do for the kids is put on cartoons and hope they entertained themselves. I think I was being very selfish because I just wanted someone to take care of me, but Derek was busy helping me with the kids. That didn't stop me from having a pity party for myself though. Why is it always so easy to cry when you're sick? My emotions go all over the place it's ridiculous. Now that I'm better my sisters and I are planning to go to Tahoe for a few days with the kids this week so we're really looking forward to that. I'm excited to take them to the beach and let them run wild because they really deserve it! Pictures of our trip will more than likely be included in my next post.
