Our Family

Welcome to my blog!

Every day is a new adventure, and though this blog won't capture it all at least you might get a glimpse of our crazy life...

Quotes

A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for

Babies are a link between angels and man.

Children are a handful sometimes, A heartfull all the time.

Loving a baby is a circular business, a kind of feedback loop. The more you give the more you get and the more you get the more you feel like giving.
Penelope Leach

While we try to teach our children all about life, Our children teach us what life is all about.
Angela Schwindt

Boy, n.: a noise with dirt on it.
Not your average dictionary

Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.
John W. Whitehead

You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around - and why his parents will always wave back.

summer fun!!!

We've been having so much fun this summer so far. We've been doing a lot of swimming. Janeane invited us to the racket ball club in Yuba City the other day and the kids loved it. We were there for three hours and lets just say that even though I put sunscreen on them both we all ended up a little sunburned. The weather is definitely heating up and this is a perfect way for us to keep cool. Derek and I bought the kids a little pool for the back patio and we've been spending time out there too...

It seems like the older Jax gets the more he starts to look like Peyton. Seeing them side by side in pictures is kinda crazy because I still feel like there's no way I already have two kids.

They love to play. Sometimes they get in each other's way, but they are usually pretty good about playing together. Peyton found out that she can bug Jax and at times she thinks it is the funniest thing to make him upset. Then Jax has mastered the art of whining to tattle on Peyton for messing with him. I told her one day he'll be bugging her and all I'm gonna say is that it's payback... She doesn't get it, yet!

Even though I don't think she really looks like me I've been seeing myself in her reactions and her facial expressions. It's a little weird because I sometimes think I know what she's feeling because I remember feeling the same way when I was little. Like for example when she gets into trouble for doing something she shouldn't be doing she gets this embarrassed look on her face and I remember feeling the same embarrassment whenever I would get into trouble as a kid. I almost think that this will help me in my parenting venture because remembering how I felt as a child will help me determine which parenting methods will work best for my family.

Jax on the other hand thinks it's funny to get into trouble. He laughs at the word no and I have absolutely no clue how I'm going to deal with him when he's older. I guess I will just learn as I go. He's such a boy though and it kinda freaks me out because if he was a girl I would already know what to do. I don't know how to raise a boy...

I totally love him though. I can't help it. He's my little man and he makes me laugh a hundred times a day or more. Lately whenever he hears music he just starts clapping and dancing it's soo funny...

Peyton loves the baby swing. She could sit in this thing for hours. Well, this is just the start of our summer and we are having so much fun! Hope you are staying cool and spending time doing the things that you love!!!

  1. Oh, how I remember those days when the kids were small swimming, playing, and never wanting to come in cause they were having so much fun. You will always cherish the time with those little ones. I really miss my pool in Nor. Cal. We left it behind when we moved to So. Cal. Have a wonderful weekend.
